HBABCs’ Bill Benson Speaks to the Alzheimer’s Association
Bill Benson spoke on February 13th to the Alzheimer’s Association’s public policy staff from their chapters across the country. Benson’s remarks were part of an education and training session in Washington, D.C. to help the chapters’ public policy staff prepare for the Association’s National Advocacy Forum. Benson provided an in-depth overview of the Older Americans Act (OAA) including its history, the Act’s seven (7) titles, the structure of the federal, state and local “aging services network,” funding, and its authorization status, while providing insights from having worked with the OAA for more than four decades.
