ASA Public Policy Webinar Features Bill Benson
HBABCs’ Bill Benson participated in an American Society on Aging (ASA) webinar on May 16th that reprised ASA’s Public Policy Town Hall Meeting that was the opening session at the recently concluded ASA annual meeting in New Orleans. Benson addressed current federal policy issues concerning elder justice/elder abuse for the webinar on “ASA’s Public Policy Priorities for 2019.” Benson joined Paul Downey, President & CEO of Senior Services of San Diego; Amy Herr, Director of Health Policy at West Health Policy Center; and, Lisa Swirsky, Policy Advisor at the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare Foundation. Paul addressed homelessness and other housing issues and Lisa addressed Medicare and Medicaid. These topics are the priority focus areas for ASA. Paul and Lisa co-chair ASA’s public policy committee. Bill’s term as co-chair of the ASA public policy ended as of the April ASA conference.
